Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book my maternity session?

I recommend scheduling maternity sessions between 30-35 weeks so we can see that beautiful baby bump, but don’t wait! Early in your second trimester is the best time to reach out and book so you can plan accordingly and get on my calendar!

When should I book my newborn session?

The sooner the better, but I recommend booking early in your second trimester because I take a limited number of sessions a month. The booking date is based off your estimated due date. Newborn sessions are unique in that they are best within the first 2 weeks of life, but if necessary can be scheduled up to 1 month. We can always reschedule if baby decides to come early or late.

How long are sessions?

Family, maternity, and couples sessions are 60 minutes and are scheduled 1-2 hours before sunset, depending on location. Newborn session are 2-3 hours scheduled in the morning.

If your little one isn’t accustomed to staying up a little later, please adjust their naps as best as you can, and rest assured one night of staying up past their bedtime will be just fine since we will be having so much fun!

What if someone gets sick?

Sickness can happen, especially with young kids. There isn’t anything worse than feeling sick and trying to act happy. I would rather wait until your child and/or you feel better than trying to push through and having a less than delightful experience. If anyone is not feeling well or has symptoms that can be related to COVID-19, please just let me know as soon as possible, and we will get you rescheduled.

What happens if it rains?

If your session date shows rain, we can play it by ear. I have found that most rain clouds/showers make for beautiful sunsets so I don’t get really worried. We can always splash around in a bit of rain if you are up for it or if it doesn’t look like it will let up, we can reschedule.
